Ramirez as an over-the-top drama queen sis, Yalitza Aparicio as the literal moon, and Martine Gutierrez as a spooky pageant queen brought back from the dead. ![]() But not before the trio brought us an even more delightfully bizarre season two, featuring not just core favorites but also Kim Petras as a hilariously ditzy American ambassador, River L. That has since seemingly happened, unfortunately it was announced this past weekend that the series - co-created by and starring Julio Torres, Ana Fabrega, and Fred Armisen - wouldn’t be seeing a third season. The first season of the deeply silly and singular Spanish-language comedy, which follows a group of friends who professionally fake paranormal phenomena, was so deliciously absurd and overtly queer that I was sure someone at HBO would realize what niche masterpiece they funded and take it away. ![]() ![]() Even before it aired, the latest season of Los Espookys felt like a gift to the weird art gays.
